After a three year intermission due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Harriman Cup returned to Meadowbrook Polo Club in the fall of 2023 to wild success! This year, join us for an even more important milestone: our 40th anniversary! The 40th Annual Harriman Cup Polo Match between alumni from Yale and the University of Virginia will take place in September 2024 (location and exact date TBD).
For over three decades, The Harriman Cup has commemorated the life of diplomat, polo player, and former New York Governor Averell Harriman. The Harriman Cup is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the sport of polo and supporting the collegiate polo programs at Yale and UVa. The Harriman Cup charity polo match has been held every year since 1985, with the exception of the pandemic years. The organization has raised over $1 million for the schools’ undergraduate polo teams. The Harriman Cup is active throughout the year and sponsors other events.
